After graduating from NYU, I've spent 10+ years out in the wild creating marketing strategy, brands, social media platforms, and events. I have launched products, grown channels from the ground up, led marketing teams, built real community, and made life long friends and memories while doing it.

Starting my own marketing consulting business has allowed me the great privilege of working with brilliant folks at organizations of all shapes and sizes across industries. 

I pride myself on helping each brand I work with develop a unique, authentic presence in the market. 

I love bringing together gifted people and working with high-impact teams of all sizes. My working style is equal parts intuitive and data-driven, with an emphasis on over-delivering and enjoying the work we do together.

Imani founded a boutique digital consulting agency focusing on marketing strategy, event production, branding, and social media. She has been working with a wide range of clients on a project basis in a variety of industries such as wellness, fashion, philanthropy, finance, healthcare, and tech. Some select clients include J.P. Morgan, Chase, Manhattan Wellness, My Story Fine Jewelry, and EB Research Partnership.

After working with EBRP as a consultant for several years, Imani was selected to be the first Chief Marketing Officer for the nonprofit organization.

  • Alongside her leadership events and general donations saw a net increase of 110% and 10% respectively since 2022.

  • Directed marketing and operations efforts for Venture Into Cures Seattle in 2023, including a summit, gala, cocktail party, and two Eddie Vedder shows. The event raised over $5M+ for the cause and reached tens of millions.

  • Spearheaded marketing for the 2nd Reportin’ for Duty benefit show in Nashville featuring Post Malone, Eddie Vedder, Jelly Roll, and more. The show raised +$1M for the cause, a +400% YoY increase.

  • Served as Lead Product Manager for Curator, the organization’s tech platform for the rare disease patient and research community. Leading in depth development RFP process, taking the platform from MVP to market-ready in less than 9 months.

In 2021, Imani was recruited to oversee two of their largest financial services clients as a Strategic Account Executive within LinkedIn Marketing Solutions.

  • Grew this book of business by 100% in 24 months.

  • Built business case for development of a net-new advertising feature that not only satisfied complex regulatory and compliance needs, but also opened new streams of revenue across top financial services clients.

  • Earned a spot in the President’s Club comprised of the 10% of sellers globally.

MAY 2016 – MAY 2019

Imani joined the J.P. Morgan marketing department as the second hire for their newly formed social media team. In her time there she launched channels and led creative efforts for J.P. Morgan across social platforms.

  • Strategy lead for advertising and editorial content across Instagram (+300% YoY follower growth), Facebook (+121% follower growth in H1 2018), and Snapchat (+366% YoY growth in impressions), amplifying the firm’s core beliefs and current innovation initiatives.

  • Launched Instagram and Facebook in 2016, driving daily content posting, bi-monthly live streams, and advertising strategy.

  • Pitched and executed the firm’s first FinTech marketing campaign, resulting in 1 million video views, +19 million impressions, and two earned media headlines in approximately one week.

After graduating Imani stepped into Influenster, a high growth startup, to build their social and editorial platforms.

  • Strategized and managed growth of all digital editorial content for influenster.com, creating a team of 8 - 10 freelance writers

  • Conceptualized and implemented a campaign-based consumer facing website; personally owning UX, graphic components, marketing strategy, ultimately driving +84k participants to the site, inclusive of +200k votes.

  • Collaborated with clients such as Covergirl, Maybelline, and Keurig to create sponsored editorial content for consumer facing website.

  • Directed strategy and execution of content across social media channels, which involved creative direction and analytics focused on follower growth, engagement, and unique viewers.

Since her tenure there, Influenster continued to grow and has since been acquired by BazaarVoice.

Imani earned her undergraduate degree from NYU Steinhardt with a major in Media, Culture & Communications and a minor from NYU Stern in Business of Media & Entertainment. Imani was a member of NYU Varsity Soccer Team, studied abroad in Madrid, and graduated with honors.
